Snowsports enthusiasts have long favoured Chamonix, primarily for its offering of some of the finest off-piste skiing in the Alps. From Chalet Khione, nestled at the top of the Chamonix valley, the mountains open up in every direction: carve 15km of powder down La Vallée Blanche from the Aiguille du Midi, trace the off-piste trails of La Vormaine, or conquer runs of every colour in Les Grands Montets. Warm up in Le Tour before venturing onto La Haute Route, head through the Mont Blanc tunnel for a day skiing Courmayeur, or simply find your ski legs on the nursery slopes just a five-minute walk from your door. Only a 90-minute drive from Geneva airport, Chalet Khione is a playground for skiiers, snowboarders and mountaineers alike.

With the help of Chamonix architect Catherine Le Coq-Jammes and Savoie-based interior designer Sarah Colson, we renovated all three floors of the chalet to bring more light, more space and more comfort. Local vieux bois has restored every ceiling and wall, and an extended balcony provides all bedrooms with a view of the tallest mountain in the Alps: Mont Blanc.

Even if you just want to read a book with a cuppa, there's no better place than Chalet Khione, whose west-facing balconies catch the last of the day's sun and boast views of the peak of the Alps, Mont Blanc.
Alternatively, pack a picnic and enjoy it with your toes in the village's fresh alpine stream, set against the backdrop of the valley's infamous cowbells.
In Summer, set out to explore over 24km of hiking trails right from the chalet door. Walk the scenic traverse of Le Grand Balcon Sud from Chamonix town or climb to the Aiguillette des Posettes from Vallorcine. Or maybe keep Chalet Khione as your post Tour de Mont Blanc treat - a famed 170km trail crossing France, Switzerland and Italy with around 10,000 metres of climbing.
If bikes are more your thing, jump on our two e-bikes or hire from Argentière to ride over Col de Montets and into Switzerland, conquer the trails in Les Houches, or, don your yellow jersey and follow the 2016 Tour de France stage from Albertville to Saint-Gervais Mont Blanc.
